Welcome to the Gaucho Family!

I am thrilled to welcome you to the start of the 2024/2025 school year, marking El Capitan High School’s 12th year. This year brings exciting new developments and continued dedication to providing a high-quality education.

Our stadium project has officially begun! The new stadium will hold approximately 3,000 spectators and feature state-of-the-art lights. We are actively fundraising for a digital scoreboard to enhance the experience further. The stadium will include a grass field for football, flag football, and soccer and an all-weather 8-lane track. Additionally, the project will feature a ticket booth and restrooms, ensuring comprehensive facilities for all athletics.

Instructionally, our focus remains on the 4 Cs: communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking. This year, we are emphasizing increasing the depth of knowledge in our classrooms. These skills are essential for college and career readiness, and our goal is to challenge students to think critically and engage deeply with the curriculum.

To enhance student engagement, we are implementing the new MUHSD policy on cell phones and expecting all students to be involved in some form of extracurricular clubs or activities. Our new cell phone policy aims to minimize distractions and promote appropriate technology use. Students will be encouraged to participate in clubs, sports, or other extracurricular activities, fostering a well-rounded high school experience.
