Mr. Doyle's picture Anthony Doyle- Teacher Librarian @antcdoyle 209-384-5549

Mr. Doyle is originally from New Jersey and has never ever said "Joisey" because people from New Jersey don't talk like that. He grew up in a large family with 5 sisters so he spent most of his time outside. After graduating from West Morris Central High School (Go Wolfpack!) he escaped in an old Volvo and landed in Austin, Texas, one of the coolest cities in the world, even for a desperately poor college student. He graduated from the University of Texas (Hook 'em Horns!) where he majored in Spanish and minored in math. After teaching in Texas for two years for a ridiculously low salary he heeded Horace Greeley's advice and headed west. After teaching Spanish for 7 years at Merced (Go Bears!) and Golden Valley High School (Go Cougars!) he entered the masters program at San Jose State (Go Spartans!), studying library and information science. He became the Teacher Librarian at Livingston High (Go Wolfpack!) and worked there for many years until taking the same position at the district's shiny new campus, El Capitan High (Go Gauchos!) in 2012.

Mr. Doyle is an avid reader of science fiction and young adult fiction. He is also a computer geek and a gadget freak. He loves classic rock music, crime shows, Star Trek in all its incarnations, and suspense and horror movies. He is the faculty advisor for the ECHS Book Club and is the lead mentor for the ECHS Robotics Club, better known as FRC Team 5852 Illusion Robotics.

Mr. Doyle is married to Golden Valley English Teacher Cynthia Jones-Doyle. They have 2 teenage children and a strange but beautiful Alaskan Husky who sings to ambulances.

He became a Gaucho in 2013. He is the JV Boys' Soccer coach and enjoys schooling the students in the annual student-staff soccer game. He is known as the Lionel Messi of Merced. He enjoys Manga and Anime. He is also married to a teacher and has 2 children.
